Black business owners can apply for $500 - $2,000 grants through the Wish Local Empowerment Grant program. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old, have 20 or fewer employees, generate an annual average revenue of less than $1 million and own a brick-and-mortar location in the United States. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Now in its eighth year, the Yva Jourdan Foundation and HerSuite Spot offer monthly $1,000 HerRise micro-grants to women of color entrepreneurs. To be eligible, your business must be at least 51% woman of color owned and must be a for-profit business registered in the U.S. Applications are due on the last day of each month.



Hidden Star, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports women, people of color and low-income entrepreneurs, offers Galaxy Grants. Grants of up to $2,750 are awarded to people of color and women business owners. Applications are open and will be accepted until June 30, 2024.


Block Advisors by H&R Block is providing $100,000 in grants, plus small business services

One grand prize winner will receive a small business grant of $50,000. Additional finalists will receive a grant of $12,500. The Kenneth Rainin Foundation invites applications for its Open Spaces Program, which funds artist-driven temporary, place-based public art that engages communities in San Francisco and Oakland around issues relevant to them. Projects must be visionary and timely, expand the boundaries of public art and help artists in advancing their practice.

The Ben & Jerry’s Foundation was created to fund organizations in Vermont and around the country that are working for progressive social change. The foundation invites applications to its National Grassroots Organizing Program (NGO), which offers two-year, unrestricted, general operating support grants of up to $30,000 per year—with an average grant size of $20,000 per year—to small, constituent-led grassroots organizations across the United States and its territories. To be eligible, applicants must have an annual operating budget under $350,000; use grassroots, collective-action organizing campaigns as the primary strategy for creating social change; be a nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status or have a fiscal agent with this status; and be U.S.-based and U.S.-focused.



Each year, we offer small business owners an opportunity to take their business to the next level with $10,000 in funding. Applications are now open, don’t miss your chance to be one of 50 recipients of the fifth annual Up & Running Grants. Fifty small-business owners will be awarded $10,000 grants from eBay. To be eligible, you must have had an active eBay seller account prior to Dec. 2, 2023. Applications are open until June 7, 2024.


Open to business owners from systemically oppressed backgrounds, including minority business owners, LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals with disabilities and formerly incarcerated individuals, the Transform Business Grant awards a $1,000 micro-grant. Applications for the next cycle will be accepted from Sept. 15-30, 2024.


A top 100 accounting, tax, and advisory firm, SAX LLP invites applications to its annual Founders’ Award, which aims to empower and support organizations making a positive impact in the communities they serve. The first-place prize is a $20,000 unrestricted gift to support the organization’s mission and initiatives. The second-place winner will receive a complimentary Mission Moment video package valued at $20,000 from Beard & Bowler Productions, a Dumont-based Commercial Filmmaking creative company. The third-place winner will be awarded a $5,000 unrestricted cash prize, courtesy of Valley Bank. To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 


The Greenhouse Accelerator Program Juntos Crecemos Edition is a five-month, mentor-guided program to support the acceleration of emerging food and beverage businesses that are providing solutions and innovations to transform the way consumers live their lives. Backed by PepsiCo, Greenhouse Accelerator Juntos Crecemos is a grant for Hispanic-owned business. Up to eight food and beverage businesses will be selected to participate in a five-month accelerator program and receive a $20,000 grant. One company will be awarded an additional $100,000 at the end of the program. Applications are accepted from March 6 - May 6. Finalists will be announced on June 26, 2024.


Now in its fourth year, the Fast Break for Small Business program will award $10,000 to 150 small businesses across the U.S. The program is a partnership between LegalZoom, Accion Opportunity Fund, the NBA, WNBA and NBA G-League. To be eligible, your business must have been in operation for a minimum of three months and have annual revenue below $1 million. Additionally, 3,000 entrepreneurs who have not yet launched their ventures will receive a LegalZoom product valued up to $500. Applications are accepted from Feb. 15 - Sept. 13, 2024.


Now in its fourth year, the AAPIStrong Restaurant Fund is presented by the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship (ACE) and funded by GrubHub Community Fund. Grants between $5,000 and $25,000 will be available for AAPI-owned restaurants. Applications are open from May 1 - 31, 2024, or until 5,000 applications have been submitted.


Launched in 2024, the Comcast RISE Investment Fund is open to entrepreneurs in specific target cities each funding cycle. In each participating city, 100 business owners receive grants of $5,000 each. Applicants must have 25 or fewer employees and at least three years in business. Although this grant program was originally intended for people of color and women, it has since been expanded to all small business owners. In 2024, small businesses in Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Jacksonville, FL; Richmond, Virginia and Southern Colorado are eligible to apply. Applications are open from May 1 - 31, 2024.


The Pepper Startup Grant is an annual competition that awards $5,000 to a Black woman or nonbinary business owner. To be eligible, you must run an early-stage business that has raised less than $500,000 in equity financing. Details for the 2024 round have not yet been announced.



Formerly the Dream Big Awards, America's Top Small Business Awards is run by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This grant is open to all small business owners who are U.S. residents and run a for-profit business that has been in operation for at least one year. One winner receives a $25,000 grant. Details for the 2024 competition have not yet been released.


The Merchant Maverick Opportunity Grants Program is a critical part of our mission to spark positive change in the B2B space. Its only purpose is to provide funding to businesses that experience barriers to traditional financing. While many marginalized groups find it difficult to obtain traditional bank lending or venture capital investment, this year, the Merchant Maverick Opportunity Grant will be awarded to two Native American/American Indian small business owners. Applications open on September 1st, 2023 and remain open until November 30th, 2023. Two winners will be selected for these $10K grants, and the winning businesses will be notified before the end of the year.


The Power Forward Small Business Grant program aims to create a lasting impact through the economic empowerment of Black-owned small businesses across New England. Through a combined commitment of $1,500,000, VistaPrint and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation teamed up with the NAACP to award transformative grants of $25,000 to fifty-nine small businesses. Through this initiative, grant recipients also received opportunities to be featured on co-branded platforms along with receiving marketing and design resources from VistaPrint customized to their specific needs to help power their businesses forward.


Feed the Soul's Restaurant Business Development Grant This program is open to food businesses that are at least 51% owned by someone who belongs to one of the following categories: Black, Indigenous, Latinx, LGBTQ+, military veterans, persons with disabilities or formerly incarcerated individuals. In addition to a financial grant, Restaurant Business Development Program participants receive six months of consulting services and educational training. Applications are currently closed.


Sponsored by J.P. Morgan Chase and run by DigitalUndivided, the Breakthrough Program offers regional grants to female small business owners who are Black or Latina. Recipients will receive a $5,000 grant, a business mentor and sessions focused on startup funding, marketing strategies and customer analytics.

This nonprofit trade association provides educational resources and grants for small businesses and entrepreneurs. To apply for a grant of up to $4,000, you’ll need to become an active member of the National Association for the Self-Employed, provide a detailed explanation of how you’ll use the funds, show how the grant will support your business growth and provide supporting documentation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
