LegalZoom Fast Break for Small Businesses

LegalZoom Expands Largest Grant Program To-Date to Deploy $3 Million to Small Business Owners as Part of Fast Break for Small Business Program With the NBA. LegalZoom.com is again teaming up with the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G-League for the last round of the annual Fast Break for Small Business grant program.


The final funding round is the program’s largest to date, with a total of $3 million in grants and services available. Specifically, 150 businesses will receive a total of $1.5 million in financial grants, and 3,000 emerging entrepreneurs will benefit from $1.5 million in professional services and resources. The Fast Break for Small Business originally launched in 2021 and has already supported nearly 4,000 small business owners across 48 states and the District of Columbia. Applications for this round will be accepted now through September 13 and will be awarded throughout the NBA and WNBA season.


Who Can Apply

Small businesses that have been in operation for at least three months are eligible for a $10,000 small business grant and/or up to $500 in LegalZoom products and services. Entrepreneurs who have yet to launch their business are eligible for up to $500 in LegalZoom products and services.

 

Women of Color Grant

The Tory Burch Foundation also partners with the Fearless Fund to offer 75 annual Women of Color Grants. Grant amounts range from $10,000 to $20,000; winners can also access a learning portal and small-group networking opportunities.


Who qualifies? At least 51% of your business must be women-of-color-owned. Your business must be for-profit, and the committee prefers that you’ve been in business for one to five years and have a minimum annual revenue of at least $100,000.

The Stark Community Foundation

The Stark Community Foundation invites applications for its SummerTime Kids grants initiative, which will award grants of up to $2,000 to organizations delivering imaginative and unique summer programs in Stark County.

 
 

Image Learning Foundation

Imagine Learning Foundation (ILF), the philanthropic initiative created by Imagine Learning, the largest provider of digital curriculum solutions in the United States, invites applications for its Imagine Signature Grant program, which aims to support the well-being of learners outside of the classroom, either at home or in their communities.


The application is comprised of four phases:

  • Phase 1: Determine Eligibility in the Ineligible Organizations and Projects Section

  • Phase 2: Submit Grant Application (for all eligible applicants)

  • Phase 3: Application Evaluation by ILF

  • Phase 4: Notifications and Awards (by ILF to Grantees)


The Imagine Signature Grants Program anticipates awarding $400,000 or more in total grant awards to new and/or existing grantees with estimated grant awards, per grantee, in the range of $50,000 to $100,000. For further details, please reference the Imagine Signature Grant Program Guidelines.


 

Tory Burch Foundation Fellowship Program

The Tory Burch Foundation runs a yearlong fellowship program for women entrepreneurs. Each year, 50 fellows receive a $5,000 grant and additional resources, such as workshops with experts and networking opportunities with other female founders. Grant funds must be used to further your business education. You may also access 0% interest loans.



Each year, we select 50 women entrepreneurs for a yearlong program designed to grow their businesses through workshops, coaching sessions, network-building, and financial resources. The program ends with a company presentation and trip to New York City.


Who qualifies? At least 51% of your business must be women-owned, and you must be 21 or older. Your business must be for-profit, operating for fewer than five years and generating at least $75,000 in annual revenue.


 

FedEx Small Business Grant

The FedEx Small Business Grants Program isn’t specifically for women entrepreneurs but awards 10 grants to for-profit businesses that use FedEx shipping services. Nine grant winners receive $20,000 awards, and the grand prize winner is awarded $50,000. In addition to the cash awards, each grant winner receives shipping perks and credits with FedEx. The FedEx Small Business Grants Program is an exclusive benefit for our customers.  


  • Who qualifies? Your business must be based in the U.S., have fewer than 99 employees and have been operational for at least six months. You must also have a FedEx business account for at least six months.

  • How can I apply? Submit an online application that describes your business, how you’d use grant funds and how FedEx has supported your growth. You’ll also submit a short pitch video. For 2024, applications are accepted between March 1 and April 1. Winners are notified on May 16.

You need to have opened a FedEx business account before September 1, 2023. If you don’t have a FedEx account, create one now. You'll be one step closer to applying next year, plus you'll save up to 40% on shipping and select surcharges.


 
 

Galaxy Grants

Sponsored by Hidden Star, a nonprofit that offers startup assistance to low-income entrepreneurs, Galaxy Grants provide $2,750 awards to women- and minority-owned businesses. You’ll receive a matching award if you refer a friend and they win a grant.


Who qualifies? You must be a woman or “confirmable ethnic minority” business owner (or be considering starting a business), at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the U.S. You must create a free Galaxy of Stars account before applying.


How can I apply? The application takes under a minute to complete — you’ll supply your name, email address, zip code, ethnicity, gender and business status. The current grant cycle closes on March 31, 2024. For more information on this funding opportunity, please visit: Galaxy Grants


 

HerRise Microgrant

The HerRise Microgrant is designed to help women of color start or grow their businesses. One $1,000 grant is awarded each month to enterprises that create “innovative solutions that impact their community.”


  • Who qualifies? At least 51% of your for-profit business must be owned by women of color. It must be registered in the U.S. and make less than $1 million in annual revenue.

  • How can I apply? Complete a short online application and submit your business plan and pitch. You must submit your application before midnight on the last day of the month.


What's the process?

Every month our committee selects a winner from submitted applications. Apply by 11:59pm on the last day of the month to be eligible for that month. Winners will be revealed at the next month’s HerSuiteSpot First Friday Mixer. You do not have to be present to be selected.

Who should apply?

The HerRise MicroGrants, offering $1,000 each, are open to women of color entrepreneurs across diverse fields. Your business must be:

  • 51% owned by women of color 

  • Currently registered in the US

  • Less than $1 million in gross revenue
